Yoga with Sally
Yoga has been a lifelong practice for me, bringing strength, flexibility and positivity to all aspects of my life. As time goes on, the benefits of yoga become more relevant, necessary and appreciated – and teaching allows me to share these benefits.

Yoga is for everyone, no matter your flexibility or experience. My classes are mixed ability vinyasa flow and designed to be accessible and inclusive with plenty of variations offered for all levels.

Classes range from small online group classes to customised one-to-one classes personalised to individual needs and aims. I also teach groups in gyms and studios including chair yoga which is especially beneficial for seniors.

The practice should challenge, you should work and stretch but not to excess – body awareness is crucial. Work within your limits. Never force your body into a posture.
After relaxation at the end of class you should leave feeling both energised and calm.

Meet Sally
A yoga teacher you can relate to
I feel lucky to have been introduced to yoga at school and have practiced for many years. Nearly ten years ago, I decided it was time to share my experience and after an intensive training course in Thailand qualified as a yoga instructor. Since then, I have taught in the UK, France and Dubai and more recently online.

Yoga has been an integral part of my life for a long time and even though there have been times when I have not kept up yoga practice, it has always been there in the background.

Over the years yoga has kept me strong both physically and mentally. For over forty years yoga has made me flexible, resilient and focussed.

Yoga sustains me, body and mind. My aim is that through my teaching it will do the same for you.

I have enjoyed many styles of yoga and I draw on all of these in my teachings. I qualified in Ashtanga Vinyasa (200 hours) but also trained in Yin Yoga (80 hours). For many years I attended Iyengar yoga classes and I love the precision and discipline of Iyengar as well as classic Hatha yoga.

About Yoga
Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing.

Yoga uses low impact physical postures (asanas), breathing and relaxation techniques. Most people are familiar with the yoga positions and the strength and flexibility they bring, but don’t know that yoga can involve so much more.

As you focus on breathing, the mind will become still as you change the focus inwards and away from your everyday life and concerns.

With yoga we learn to stretch the body to release tension. We gradually become more supple, stronger and more confident, able to breathe more effectively and relax more deeply.

Chair Yoga:

Yoga while seated on a chair gives a low intensity workout but supported by a chair – if appropriate the whole class can be seated, or the chair can be used as a support to help balance while standing. Chair yoga can help ease pain in sore and stiff joints, increase strength and mobility whole improving balance.

With lots of stretches and building strength from the safety of a chair yoga can help prevent falls and boost greater independence. This form of yoga is especially beneficial for seniors.
